Students Held Mangrove Forest Campaign in Untung Jawa Island

Students who are studying in one of the private universities in Jakarta held a mangrove forest Campaign on the coastal of Seribu Islands. Trash cleaning and mangrove seed planting, is one way of maintaining marine ecosystem and threat of coastal erosion.

This is a manifestation of our caring for the environment. With the hope, mangrove can grow well in Seribu Islands, and prevent coastal erosion

"This is a manifestation of our caring for the environment. With the hope, mangrove can grow well in Seribu Islands, and prevent coastal erosion," said Yulyanah, Preceptor of students group, Saturday (1/23).

Regent Wants Mangrove Forest to Be Set as Tourism Site

Such planting is centered on Untung Jawa Island land. The students along with Jakarta Transportation Dept also held a meeting with local residents.

Not only that, as the implementation of community service, they also distributed books to the reading park in Child Friendly Integrated Public Spaces (RPTRA).
